Custom 404 errors in CodeIgniter when extending the CI_Controller class
Well I'm stumped, got some major problems it seems! If a 404 is generated I get an error in the style of:
Fatal error: Call to a member function ??????() on a non-object in /var/www/html/[path_to_website]/application/core/MY_Controller.php on line ??
I should point out that the error is a function being called on a non-object of an autoloaded library (an authentication library that handles logins etc).
I think it's to do with the fact that I'm extending the CI_Controller class with MY_Controller class in that the libraries aren't being loaded.
What I install on my Fedora systems
Thought I'd post it here, but a list of the packages I like to install on my Fedora installations:
gnome-do
webmin
denyhosts
bash-autocomplete
subversion
subversion-gnome
rapidsvn

Still alive
I'm still alive and kicking.

Virgin Media's Lies
aka traffic management.
I'm so annoyed with it, not only for the meagre amounts allowed before traffic management kicks in, but for the traffic management policy itself which LIES!
I'm justified in saying this as I've tried to download a game on Steam, starting at 3pm and at about 3.30pm I'd been throttled. Thanks Virgin, get your policies in order for everyone else as you've lost my custom by failing to meet your own policies, for your poor customer support and for ignoring my letters.
Now, can anyone recommend an ADSL provider with a static IP address allocation?
Tracker indexing remaining on 1% for File System
How bizarre, and why does it happen so oftern? I don't know why the tracker indexing program continuously remains at 1% of the file system on my Fedora 13 laptop but I do wish it would get its act into gear sometimes. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?
OCZ GameXstream 850W power supply
...is installed and working fine (thankfully!). It took me over an hour to install because of the number of items in the case. As it's a quad rail power supply I'm hoping that I haven't overloaded one of the 12V rails (shouldn't have but you never know).
All's good with it at the moment :)
Can I use a wireless N card with only 2 antennas?
Well that's the question I asked myself last night and it looks like I can (according to 2 sources I read on the internet). So with that in mind I'll be looking to replace my Intel Pro Wireless 3945ABG card with an Intel Pro Wireless 4965ABN (same size, interface etc).
Currently I can pull down 2.5MB/s over wifi so I'm hoping to see a marked improvement on this once I've got the N card installed and working, hopefully with the 2 antennas which are in my Vaio SZ5 laptop.
Computer Says No...
In what has been some of the most emotional days of my life so far, I wasn't expecting to get home and then have my computer quite literally explode on me :(
Surely a 700W power supply would cope with running:
House!
Finally, confirmation today that the house is finally mine! Now I just need to wait 7 days (Wednesday 21st October) until the completion date to get some keys :)
