Terminator 4

Ok, so the blog's a complete waste of time! None the less, there's a new trailer out today for Terminator 4 (Terminator Salvation for the pedantic of you) which looks AMAZING! I've only watched it twice so far today however I'm sure that number wil go up!

Nokia Roadmap

Wow, first 'geek' post of the new blog! Finally some good news on the horizon for Nokia's mobile phones via Engadget Mobile: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/10/the-better-part-of-nokias-smartphone-roadmap-goes-on-display/. Whilst we're on the subject, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 mobile is now available online through O2 and Vodafone, and the Nokia N85 at a Phones4U shop near you.

Salsa All-Dayer in Kent

Last night I went to Kent to the Planet Salsa All-Dayer event which was the 'pre-party' for the Weekender in May 2009. I won the tickets for the All-Dayer whilst at the Bedford Salsa Showcase that was put on by RedHotRed and the tickets were donated by Salsa Chillout. For anyone who hasn't been to such an event, it was a great opportunity to see some different teaching styles, learn some new moves, meet new people and, of course, have a good time! Makes me glad I'm already booked on the Weekender in May 2009.

...website too!

Nearly forgot, so's the website, although this is now hosted externally with UK Web Solutions Direct; quick service, great price, lots of features. Click here to find out more about UKWSD.

Server's Up!

After the great filesystem failure of '08, the server is finally back up! This highlighted several very important points:

  1. Backups are GOOD
  2. Backups need to be saved somewhere VERY SAFE
  3. Never underestimate how much you rely on NFS, web servers, SMB and other fruity morsels
  4. RAID cards may fit computers but cases only hold a finite amount of hard drives
  5. CD drives work best when plugged in

Wisdom imparted.
